Prayer for Enlightenment
Set your associations up, perhaps with an image of Lucifer being included in your alters array. Light the incense. Focus. Center yourself however you may, preparing for this however is to be deemed appropriate, then begin as follows and repeat three times:
Hail Lucifer. Lord and master of the element of Air.
I ask of you, friend and father Lucifer, grant me now thy wisdom and aide me in obtaining knowledge toward new beginning. In the utterance of thy name I move thee, and I invoke the strength of your nature to aide me, to surround me, and to impale me with the illuminating force of thy light. Lord Lucifer, hear my prayer.
You, bringer of enlightenment and wisdom... in your honor I hail the season of wisdom, of rebirth, and enlightenment.
Show us truth and reason and take us to beyond. For it is you, brave Lucifer, who hath brought us from darkness into the light. And your winds carry with them the lessons for this lifetime. To know Thee, is to come to know Thyself.
Exalt me and so shall I be raised up! All Hail Lucifer, Lord of Light!

As you read this ... remember ... to take your time. Do not give in to the urge to rush. Instead, read the words, and as you do this begin to also will the meaning behind those words, only as fast as you can also begin to imagine what you are saying is happening to you as well. Pray from the heart. For just as there is a difference between when a person is hearing and when that person is actively listening, so is there a marked difference between mere recitation and the actual art of working your will. And as my offertory candle glows, dancing aflame in the East of my temple, as I write these very words that you are reading now, I wish you much luck, honor, wisdom, and wealth of spirit, having said all of that to you tonight in honor of him who has inspired me so.
