Well, you know there's really a lot more to consider than just one's frequency... Clearly it is a true enough point, though, that if one disturbs the so-called planted seed of their work often enough then it's roots won't able to set in your life. One could go further and say that most techniques of magick won't work when the focus refuses to be wrested free from the conscious mind.

What most likely inspires the high frequency of daily workings for the same trend day after day would either be impatience or doubt in one's abilities to cause real external change. Hardly a concern limited to autofocal sex magick... The underlying cause is more important to focus on than treating the symptom by limiting frequency, albeit one doesn't often come without the other. So again, it's a good prophylactic; doing as you suggested. A really good place to start, and a more far reaching point than maybe you originally consciously knew....

What brought it to mind? Learned the hard way...?


edit: The more subjective things we will, will tend to manifest immediately, keep that in mind... in that case the problem would probably be considered another type of lack of faith if it doesn't and is repeated to death.

I'm a big proponent of chastity before sex magick solo or otherwise. At least a few days for men, even longer for women. I find for myself and others that there is a "ceiling" effect with chastity before sex magick though. In other words a year isn't necessarily better than a week or two for storing up that sexual energy....too long can start losing the edge you get through the chastity.

Guess this varies with the magician though.....

I haven't really tried the chastity method enough to compare. I haven't reached a week successfully so perhaps I'm biased. I've not had any problems in terms of generating sufficient energy though... the only one problem I've had is the typical one of breaking my focus every now at the crucial point of manifestation due to my focus automatically adjusting to something in my internal or external environment. That doesn't happen so much now, though, as then. Still, just to validate your earlier point which I agree with, I have to say that when I eat a bit before my workings I have considerably more energy and better ability to draw on my innate energies, whereas most people become grounded by doing that. Many things vary in result from person to person. That is right....

Hey speaking of chastity and masturbatory sex magick both like you were... I read about this thing today that says people can evoke a succubus or incubus through masturbation without ejaculation if also willing it's evocation throughout the ordeal. The magickian would then go right to sleep or start meditating immediately thereafter. I'm also wondering what the other usages are or could be for a technique like this.

This just makes sense. Maybe it's not new to you then, but it's new to me. Anyone who has played a video game for hours at a time and closed their eyes to rest later knows what happens when you burn images, and scenery, and impressions, into your short term memory with intense focus. Of course that means some wimpy little session isn't likely going to be enough to form a mental loop.
