Default I'm a witch

People around here think I'm a wiccan and I would like to clear things up.

I consider myself a witch, and I believe that while magick is fun it should be used to help people.
I do not follow the wiccan rede but I do follow its origen the Witches Creed.
I admit that some of my beliefs lean towards wicca.

And finaly I live by one rule

"If it harms none do what you will."

By night he’s the wild wind’s rider,
The Horn’d One, the Lord of the shades,
By day he’s the King of the Woodlands,
The dweller in green forest glades.

She is youthful or old as she pleases,
She sails the torn clouds in her barque,
The bright silver lady of midnight,
The crone who weaves spells in the dark.

Cool story bro.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

I dont know too much about the difference, but i would guess being a witch stays closer to the old ways, while wiccan is kind of a more newage thing.

Then as with all things there can be 'light' witches and 'dark' witches, right?

Hello fellow witch. Yep, people make that mistake a lot. Don't fault them their ignorance; how can they know if you haven't yet told them?

P.S.-- the whole big pentacle avatar kinda leads one towards thinking of Wicca, yah?

P.P.S.-- this thread doesn't automatically alert the whole forum community. Expect the mistake to be made again. And again. And again.

What is light? What is dark? What is "all things"?

I've met white witches, black witches, red witches, grey witches, brown witches, green witches, Christian witches, Satanic witches, and hedge witches.
I myself am a Chaos Witch.

One of those white witches was a real bitch, btw. Just sayin'.

Hehe, yes the world seems to work the way, where the people whom appear to be dark, actually contain light and vise versa. A true 'light' witch, would be one whom garnered their power source, from the source of limitless light outside the confines of the universe. But the true Creator allows free will to all, so that power could still be used for seemingly dark things...

A 'black' witch i suppose would garner their power from the physical things around them, ie the sun, moon and earth around them. This would not necessarily make them 'evil,' but darkness can always be likened to physical matter. And the power from the sun and stars, has been funneled down from a higher source. So why drink from the pond when you can drink from the river?

Plus, the color white contains all colours, hehe.

Sometimes the pond harbors things necessary to a specific ritual. Even the dankest cesspool teems with life, yah?

Sure! Although, all the above sounds pretty wiccan to me.

It is pity and a great shame that futile imagination is accepted as real magick, and that real magick is disregarded and dismissed as imagination.
