Selfishness and Egoism
Is that not why I made this thread? Or perhaps it has to do with a lack of... "TIME"... I desire to find bright souls- hampered by the malicious black hole that is modern society. I don't know and I don't care.

Firstly, humans can't live without the ego, think your higher self can look after your body for ya? fuck no! Secondly, Selfishness isn't wrong. As long as one isn't what I would describe as, a total cunt. Then one is generally okay. I'm selfish, doesn't mean i don't help people, however, you might wanna lick ass, I don't. if you do stuff for other people when they don't NEED it, they become reliant on you and your in short weakening them. This isn't an excuse to say, not lend your mate money as thats just a friendly thing to do. But rather, if you are unselfish to everyone, you just weaken the world, and yourself. Yes I'm ripping in hard here, I have a true and pure hatred of newagers. And yes, I hate, because so can the divine mofo! hate and wrath are just as true and rightous as Love n light! Just harder to control

(perhaps they did wrong and deserve unhappiness, as a lesson learner) Or perhaps we should determine who gets what by what beliefs or ethical structures it reinforces. LIke, to give a stolen thing back to its owner because we believe in no stealing. What does happiness mean? Does it mean "jolliness" or "satisfaction" or does it refer to what will bring the most healthy or harmonious state to each person involved (like, perhaps a certain person needs to be denied something in this case, so he can grow a little more). Or, perhaps it is like so many cases, where "his" and "mine" are false dichotomies. Perhpas there are some cases in which both people can win equally, but our society just doesn't realize or preach that. | |

I love every word of this sentence, even the "ands" and the's". New Agers annoy me. [well, I don't hate them personally, usually. mostly they just don't know any better]. They are constantly telling me to "accept" everything...yet they have the hardest time accepting YOU and YOUR wishes and opinions. For example: Me: I want a million dollars! I'm going to try to beat Ernie in the lottery and win it all for myself! Average New Agers: Well, that's not really fair to Ernie. Me: What's the difference? Either way, one of us has to lose out. Why don't I have a right to choose to try to make it so that the loser is not me? After all, that's what Ernie's doing? Average New Agers: Herp-a-Derp! or... Me: I don't want bad things to happen to me. Average New Ager: Bad things are ways of learning. They help us become better people and teach us that pain can be transforming. Besides, there's no such thing as good or bad... Me: [does something bad] Average New Ager: OMG YOU CANT DO THAT THAT"S NOT NICE OPRAH AND WAYNE DYER SAID THAT YOURE A NEGATIVE PERSON YOU CANT DO THAT THAT"S HIS MONEY NOT YOURS AAAIIIIHISHSHSHHAHAHAHHA!!!!!! Me: I thought you said there was no good or bad. And if pain is a teacher and a learning experience, didn't I do the person I took something from a favor? They have this idea that you should always let "the other guy" go first, or win, or have his way. But if two people are both fighting over something, then which one is the "self" and which is the "other" guy? Is one person the "self" and the other the "other", and they are chosen randomly? Personally, I have noticed that whoever the wannabe sage happens to be talking to at the moment is ordered to be the "self" and the person not in the vicinity is the "other" who must be deferred to. So, the question of which person gets to have his way is not determined by who is objectively right or wrong, it's detemined by who is lucky enough to be the one who does not find himself taking the advice of the Typical New Ager. And anger's only harder to control in our society because we embrace anger less, and therefore, we study it less and it is more foreign to us. Anger is the cry of the disgruntled, and the people who have the heaviest influence on our society are selfish and do not want people to voice the fact that they are disgruntled. So they insist on no more anger. Heaven forbid should someone say "I don't like this. Change it." |
