Default Magick and Quantum Mechanics

Hello everyone! This thread isn't necessarily a question, as so much as an observation I'd like to get people's feedback on. Recently I've developed an interesting theory into who these angels and other spirits that we are invoking are on a scientific level.

This all began after watching a documentary called, Quantum Mechanics Explained (can be watched here
). For those of you that aren't familiar with QM, this is the laws of physics on an atomic level. The laws of our macro world differ greatly from the micro world. Let me explain a little further...

You see, these laws that apply to our everyday world (Theory of Relativity or Classic Mechanics) enable us to predict exact outcomes. For example, if you were to use the equations of Classic Mechanics, you could predict exactly where a thrown ball will land. This is not divination; it is simply using calculations such as trajectory, force, gravity, etc. From the moment the ball is thrown, we can (with 100% accuracy) know when and where that ball is and where it will end up before it ever hits the ground. On the quantum or subatomic level, these laws get thrown out the window. In the quantum world, particles are only particles when measured. When a particle is in transit (the ball floating through the air) it becomes a wave frequency, therefore making it impossible to tell exactly where the ball will land. The ball could literally be everywhere and nowhere at the same time, with infinite possibilities. Now I don't plan to explain all the theories involved in QM, but if you're interested in learning more about this paradox, look up "The Double-slit Experiment" or "wave-particle duality". For the sake of this post though, let's concentrate on the "everywhere and nowhere" part. Once again, the ball can be anywhere, everywhere and nowhere all at the same time creating infinite possibilities while it is unmeasured by an observer, unlike the ball in our world that we watch arch and then drop to the ground. The problem with Quantum vs. Classic mechanics is that there is no consistency. Physicists today are baffled on trying to figure out a “Unified Theory”. Some set of rules that can be applied to all faculties of reality, big or small.

Let’s look at the example of the ball, but replace the ball with me, a human being, and replace being thrown to making a decision as to which way to go when I come to a crossroad. We’ll begin the experiment with standing at the crossroad with the choice to go left, center or right. Using Classic Mechanics you can use factors such as force, gravity, trajectory, etc., and predict where I will end up once I am in motion. Now if we look at it from a Quantum Mechanic level, in the experiment you can measure me at the beginning while I am standing at the crossroad and you can measure me when I get to my destination, however while in transit I am everywhere, anywhere and nowhere all at the same time. There are multiples of me, one going left, one going center and one going right at the same time. In my quantum world there are now 3 of me going in different directions. In essence, this now creates 3 distinct possibilities (or universes) where each direction has been taken.

Ok, so now we have 3 me’s in 3 different universes each being effected by the decision made (one has gone left, one has gone down the center, and one has gone to the right). While they continue on their respective path the me that went to the left found a winning lottery ticket and won 30 million dollars. The me that went down the center ran into the love of my life and continued the path with her. And the me that went to the right was jumped and robbed by a bunch of thugs. All 3 have different experiences based on their chosen path and could potentially give insight into the choice to make. Now let’s introduce a fourth me. This fourth me is just coming to the crossroad for the first time. I haven’t touched on this yet, however it should be mentioned that time has different rules as well when on a quantum level.

This is when it all hit me. When I learned about probability on a quantum level, I wondered what would happen if that fourth me were able to ask the other 3 which direction he should take. Sound familiar yet? Asking other entities from different universes that represent different facets of me for advice? We talk about invoking these spirits from the various spheres to ask for guidance or help in a task. What if in fact these spirits are simply different versions of us that have branched off from our current or future self due to a decision we made a long time ago. This would also explain why they are all knowing in their own area of expertise. If I was able to time travel and go back in time, of course I would be able to help out the past me because I would have already had the experience of going in that direction. What if that past self was able to contact every single copy of me that has already experienced every possibility from every decision I’ve made, am making or will make? And what about the original version of me? The first to come into existence that made the first decision. Could this be a representation of the True self or as some people consider the “Higher self”?

This is simply a theory that a do not claim to be 100% correct. However I am beginning to believe that Quantum Mechanics is actually the answer to why Magick works. When you take examples of QM and apply it to Magick, the answers all seem to make sense.

I know this can be a bit of stretch for some people; however I’d like to know what you think. Could it be possible that our ancestors knew all about the effects of quantum mechanics before they knew what an atom was? Could this be the tie between science and spirituality? I’ll leave those answers for you the reader.

Actually a LOT of occult phenomenon is explained by quantum physics, and from that came Chaos Magick. The observer manifests and shapes reality with the subconscious mind.

Also Zen Buddhism is very close and near to Quantum science. It all ties together, everything is just energy manifesting randomly in every possible way all at once, time is subjectively experienced by our perception as something linear because we exist in three-dimensions. Everything is one, forever and only, but in every way.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.
