Yeah magick isn't really supposed to be dogmatic or selective, there is no one path that is true, really. You could totally switch pantheons whenever, do whatever. You could even mix the different magicks up. I like to mix my Satanism with my Zen Buddhism for astral magick. For shamanic magick and sorcery, I'll cross Voodoo with old druid stuff. It's all good. It's the individual casting the spell that makes it work, not just the powers that be.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

Agreed..

- And Ra spoke their names, and those things came into being.

Also think about the Adamical/Enochian calls...

Glorius art thou, Thine lady behind the Veil of Purity, Queen of the silvered waters, Shining in the heavens as the Celestial Serpent!
Great, is the Goddesses Kebetchet

Hail to thy name, Thy Jackal of the mountain, Seasoned traveller of the Heavens, Prince of the gates and keeper of mine heart, Hail to thou, lord of the true twilight!
Great is the Name, Anpu

Infinite is thine light, She whom cries in the wrath of spirit, Divine justice, lady of the ever burning flame eternal, Beautiful is she of the red deserts, Eternal is her Greatness, Hail to thou, Lady of Justice
Eternally, thou art Sekhmet!

Oh Thou neteru, Mine masters behold that ectasy be induced at the thought of thy names within the heart of thine disciple!

Right, but still, you can't just spit rhymes with no idea what your doing and expect much of it. You kinda do have to know what you're doing to get what you want.

Lemme tell you a story.

About two years ago, the local OTO body in Chicago had the author Lon Milo DuQuette come into town to give some talks. One of them was on his book, Enochian Vision Magick. Now Lon does not just talk, he leads rituals sometimes. This one, he had us take part in an Enochian working. Now mind you, I never done anything like this. He had rings (plastic) and Lamens (heavy cardstock). Now what he had us do was a long, repitive chant of Enochian while he chanted a separate thing. Damn thing was, it worked. When he had us do a vision, I saw what was expected in terms of symbols. Like I said, never read the book, did not have any exposure to any of this and it worked.

So I would say that you can say the words and have no idea what is going on and have results. Very rare, I would say but it happened to me. For a few months, when I would read the section in the book that explained the ritual he did, I would start tracing out, whether it would be on the subway, in the back of my work having an after lunch smoke, where ever. Very strange.

I believe in one secret and ineffable LORD; and in one Star in the Company of Stars of whose fire we are created, and to which we shall return; and in one Father of Life, Mystery of Mystery, in His name CHAOS, the sole viceregent of the Sun upon the Earth; and in one Air the nourisher of all that breathes.

And I believe in one Earth, the Mother of us all, and in one Womb wherein all men are begotten, and wherein they shall rest, Mystery of Mystery, in Her name BABALON.

Okay, but would you consider that maybe his involvement had something to do with it?
I'm not trying to say words aren't powerful. What I'm saying is that there is so much more to spell work than just the words.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

Perhaps, but there was all those times I tried reading the words from the ritual in the book and finding myself slipping back in that trance state. And I am talking about standing on a sidewalk in the Loop in Chicago or on the subway to and from work. And the second part of the chant was not being said, just the part that I said.

In my experience, the place that all this type of spell work starts is in one own's psyche. I have found that words and scents have the greatest impact in that area.

Ever say the rosary? When I was much younger and Catholic, that was my first introduction to creating an altered mental state. Just with words. From there you can do a lot with more words.

Now what is interesting is if you get that relationship with words, and then add in the other components too.

All this reminds me of another discussion about the idea of doing rituals on the astral plane vs. physical space. I do have my Mindspace that I use. Not as much as I should, considering the Ones who fitted it out for me. I like the physicality of ritual. I like flipping my wand from my left hand to my right to draw the Adverse Pentagrams of Invoking and then saying the Words and Names out loud.

Hey Myst, you still reading this, got a question. This is out of my own curiosity and if you ignore it, that is fine. (Not that I have a choice if you ignore it, eh.)

Is your circumstances that you live in prevent you from doing more Occulty stuff then just Words?

Thank you every one. And Asancta I know there is no one right way There are many and as for my panteon I personaly choose to call on the god and goddess directly.

By night he’s the wild wind’s rider,
The Horn’d One, the Lord of the shades,
By day he’s the King of the Woodlands,
The dweller in green forest glades.

She is youthful or old as she pleases,
She sails the torn clouds in her barque,
The bright silver lady of midnight,
The crone who weaves spells in the dark.
