A few days ago I had Deja Vu all day long. Like I had recently dreamed it (in symbolic form) and it was now happening.
I hadn't been sleeping well due to death in the family (and traveling) so I was taking Ambien though I rarely take sleeping pills. It felt as if I my dreams were being somewhat repressed on Ambien, and that's when I got all the crazy Deja Vu. I read through some articles online and it seems Deja Vu is at least sometimes is caused by lack of dreamiing. It's like if you don't dream, that some of that dreamworld would come out during the day during Deja Vu. Any other thoughts on Deja Vu? (besides it being a glitch in the Matrix of course). xoxo, Iza |

From my personal outlook, I think you are right on with your thoughts on it. Sometimes, people just have psychic dreams and they're probably at some pretty low alpha frequencies most of the time or Deja vu would be even more useful - i could remember those lottery numbers for example. One pseudo-scientific explanation I've heard went something like, 'certain biochemicals in the brain transmit faster than light on occassion'. It doesn't make sense to me at all though.
This whole deja vu thing you're talking about and at least trying to figure out how to harness it is something i'm remotely interested in and usually involved in what i'm talking about if i mention time magick. Ah, yeah, another explaination i heard though likened deja vu to stroke. |

Be so visible you're undeniable, walk as soft as silk and glide like a Hawk. There is no law beyond, 'Do what thou wilt.' Taunt me no further with your doves & serpents, I made the choices when I was a child. This life, and your life now - are just the aftermath."

A scientific explanation that I've heard for it is that it's your brain malfunctioning and "making" memories where there aren't any. Ascribe to that what magickal significance you will, but it does jive with your being on the sleeping medication - that stuff clearly mucks with your head. Also lack of proper sleep will do it to you badly. I notice that when I'm not sleeping properly I tend to get more de ja vu.

Yeah, the malfunction theory I think is what I was talking about, only I got mixed up. The medical specialist I was talking to said that the research he was reading up on actually likened it to a kind of 'seizure' not stroke. The difference being, he was pointing out a fairly common form of dementia after naming the 7 levels therein (and thusly trying to classify 'deja vu' as such). See it's sort of hard for me to remember because I was in and out of conciousness in the hospital back in December when we had that talk.
It's always seemed to me though, that deja vu surrounded something with sleep and in theory, dreaming. But, parsimony somewhat suggests that this is just one of those topics that's not really what it seems since your perception is altered by the occurance and the 'real' explanation is that it's just some kind of brain disturbance of some kind. 'A glitch in the matrix' indeed. |

Deja vu is to Precognition as Spirit Sight is to OOBE? If and only if it's weighted in the context of limitation...? I dunno. Just throwing it out there as it came to me quickly reading this.

000. The Many are from the One are from the None. 00. As The Many we form one unit; a collective unconscious. 0. Every Man and Woman is a star; a complete microcosm. 1. You are the only God that is; a finite expression of the macrocosm, living above & within your own universe of projections (maya). 2. All Deific Masks, Archetypes, powers or spirits must manifest through you. Therefore, to remain in your consciousness, you must be the strongest to keep your foundation identity. I get Deja-vu a lot (and I love it! - I try to be super-aware when it happens and i can sometimes keep it going for a few minutes...I tried to start listing off events that were going to happen last time, and i got a few right [minor things, like the way a person was going to move, and i knew someone was going to enter the kitchen i was in before they did]). I was trying for a time to discover triggers for it, as it seemed to happen more with lack of food and sleep, but i have yet to figure out how to do it through will. As to WHAT it is, I say forget that neuroscience (like they'll ever know what makes us "us" - we are because we Will to be, right?
), Deja-vu is when you experience yourself in the dimension(s) above Time and you can view it non-linearly. Time as a dimension is a very tricky thing, and we can't usually experience it except as a cronological event. I think this is probably because it would be very confusing otherwise, because i'd be looking forward to a kiss I had last thursday, or be enjoying a hot-dog i will eat five years from now...confusing would be the least defining word for it I think. But sometimes, like a little 2 dimensional stick figure person who is raised up to see his world from above we can get a glimpse of the fourth dimension (time) from a higher one and experience Time as a non-linear dimension instead of a straight line type thang that our 3-d bodies make it out to be in order to have a {slightly} more sane experience. Right? What's weird is that before our space-time universe began...there seems to have not been Time. I wonder what was, and how people knew what time to leave the party... |
